Department of Trauma Surgery

Medical College of Wisconsin

PI: Dr. Thomas Carver, MD; Dr. Joshua Dilday, MD

[NOV2025 - PRESENT]

During my final year of medical school, I am completing a dedicated research experience with the Department of Trauma Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. This work focuses on developing military-relevant trauma surgery research in collaboration with active-duty and former military surgeons, alongside a fellow Navy HPSP medical student. The emphasis is on clinically meaningful trauma questions arising from civilian practice with operational relevance. Current efforts include literature review, study design, and protocol development, with planned IRB submission, data collection, and abstract submission.

PI: Dr. Antje Kroner-Milsch MD, PhD

[NOV2023 - DEC 2024]

During my first year of medical school, I worked as a student researcher in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center under the mentorship of Dr. Antje Kroner-Milsch. This experience served as an introduction to academic research within a neurosurgical setting, with exposure to spinal cord injury–focused projects. My work emphasized learning core research fundamentals, including experimental design, data collection, and interpretation, while developing an understanding of how basic and translational research informs clinical decision-making.

Miscellaneous Projects

Medical College of Wisconsin

I collaborate on various interdisciplinary research initiatives. These include short-term exploratory studies, abstract development, and supporting projects in their early investigative phases. My contributions span data analysis, literature review, and experimental design, helping shape research ideas into actionable science.
